Exploring a new future with twenty entrepreneurial pioneers
Twenty entrepreneurial pioneers, selected through our request for expression of interest, helped us define the shipyard’s heritage building’s new future. Both events took place May 20 and 21 of 2014 in cooperation with Mediawharf Monumenten (The building’s owner).
Day # 1 we focused on connecting and matching possible future users in several coalitions. Day # 2 was all about building together in translating the initiatives to the spatial design of the building.
Both days were attended by experts of the municipality of Amsterdam and the National Service for Cultural Heritage. The not for profit cultural programming organization Stichting NDSM-werf and the cultural companies Vous Etes Ici and Nieuw Dakota explored new connections with the pioneers.
Finally Rob Post, (former chairman of the Amsterdam North city council), Ruben Maes (&Maes) and Susanne de Boer (young board member of the Amsterdam Economic Board) of the Advisory Board were presented the different scenarios in conclusion of both days.
The results of these events and the proces leading up to these events will be used by City Works to deliver a feasible Businessplan and development vision.
