Some 20 entrepreneurial pioneers explore shipyard building’s future.
Tuesday and Wednesday May 20 and 21st two co-creation events took place in collaboration with the shipyard building’s owner Mediawharf Monumenten. Some 20 entrepreneurs explored a new future for this Industrial Heritage Building.
“The first day was all about connecting and matching possible future users and on day number two the concepts were physically built with help of a specially designed scale-model. The events were attended by experts of the city of Amsterdam, the State Department for Cultural Heritage and National Platform for Adaptive Re-use. They were able to advise the entrepreneurs during both days. NDSM Shipyard based companies Vous Etes Ici and Nieuw Dakota and the not-for profit cultural programming organization Stichting NDSM were present to explore possible connections between them and the shipyards eventprogramming.”
On day number two the advisory board (Rob Post, former Chairman Amsterdam North City Council; Ruben Maes, &Maes and Susanne de Boer, young board member of the Amsterdam Economic Board) was presented different scenarios. The board complimented the plans and shared valuable advice. – Caroline Vrauwdeunt
